The Tourism Trio
We have mentioned several organisations throughout this section. The Tourism Trio are the three key organisations that will support you throughout the ideation stage and beyond. They are:
- Your local council (and local tourism organisation)
- Your local Destination Network
- Destination NSW
Local Council / Tourism Organisation
Your local council will provide you with information about relevant permits and approvals. They will also link you in with the existing business and tourism operators and organisations.
Destination Network (DN)
Destination Southern NSW is your local DN. We develop and update our Destination Management Plan, a strategic plan for the region’s tourism sector, we advocate on behalf of the industry, we provide important information about events, opportunities, and resources, we deliver projects, and, most importantly, we work directly with industry operators like you.
Destination NSW (DNSW)
DNSW is the agency responsible for delivering our state-wide tourism strategy, providing industry support, and promoting the state’s tourism products and experiences.

The Destination Southern NSW board and team are industry professionals. We have all worked in the sector, we love it, and we love what we do. We have a goal to generate $25 billion of regional tourism revenue by 2030. We rely on you to welcome visitors to our region, offer them a life-changing experience, and encourage them to return with their family and friends. Your success is our success and we’re here to help you achieve your tourism dream. Go for it.
