National Agritourism Strategy Framework
The National Agritourism Strategy Framework provides a roadmap to grow a thriving, diverse, and sustainable agritourism sector in Australia by 2030. It positions agritourism as a meaningful collaboration between agriculture and tourism, one that supports farm businesses, regional communities, and the visitor economy through responsible growth and authentic experiences. The strategy calls on farmers, operators, and communities to co-create a distinctly Australian agritourism offering grounded in sustainability, connection to Country, and storytelling that resonates with both local and global travellers.
Agritourism 2030 Action Plan
The Agritourism 2030 Action Plan outlines a detailed roadmap for implementing the national strategy to grow agritourism across Australia. It focuses on six key priorities: enabling sustainable farm diversification, building regional workforce capacity, developing high-quality visitor experiences, promoting the sector responsibly (primarily through food and drink), fostering collaboration, and providing strong sector leadership. Backed by practical recommendations, proposed budgets, and a three-phase rollout, the plan aims to position agritourism as a driver of regional economic development, cultural connection, and environmental sustainability. The Action Plan also emphasises the importance of storytelling, Indigenous engagement, trade readiness, and investment in training, infrastructure, and marketing to foster a thriving and inclusive agritourism sector by 2030.
Canberra Region Local Food Strategy
The Canberra Region Local Food Strategy promotes a vibrant and resilient food system across the Canberra region. It explores ways to connect producers with local consumers and visitors through food tourism, local markets, and collaborative marketing efforts. Relevant for agritourism operators looking to align with regional food values and build stronger local networks.
Signature Experiences of Australia
Signature Experiences of Australia is Tourism Australia’s curated portfolio of world-class special interest tourism offerings, highlighting the country’s most authentic, immersive, and high-quality experiences. Reflecting the evolving definition of luxury, now centred on connection, storytelling, and place. The program includes seven experience collectives: Aboriginal cultural experiences, luxury lodges, wildlife journeys, winery experiences, iconic walks, golf courses, and cultural attractions. Each collective showcases premium operators who uphold high standards of excellence, sustainability, and regional collaboration. These experiences offer a powerful model for agritourism operators, demonstrating how intensely local, story-driven offerings can attract high-value visitors, foster community partnerships, and elevate regional profiles on the global stage.
