NSW Business Chamber Survey

February 6, 2020

The NSW Business Chamber Survey recently conducted a survey on tourism, with the aim of supporting NSW tourism’s bushfire recovery efforts. The key take outs?

  • There has been a significant impact on tourism businesses with 67% of respondents reporting that they had either cancelled trips or were thinking about cancelling.
  • Holidaymakers want to return but are hesitant – the main concerns are safety, access, the potential for cancellation and general stress/uncertainty.
  • 96% would consider returning, but of that only 11 % would return immediately.
  • 10% were more likely to holiday in affected areas as a result of the bushfires.
