To help protect small business owners against cyber attacks, Destination Southern NSW is partnering with Cyber Wardens, a free online learning program designed to simplify cyber security for tourism businesses.
Funded by the Australian government, the program is quick and self-paced. With an understanding that small business owners have a long to-do list, being able to save their progress and finish it later is a beneficial feature.
By completing the course, business owners will be taking the first step towards making their business cyber-safe, helping to protect them from attacks, which can cost an average of $46,000 per attack.
Participants don’t need to be an IT whiz or tech-savvy – the course is jargon-free and focused on providing quick wins that can be implemented to protect businesses straight away.
By completing the course, tourism business owners will learn to:
- Identify and protect important business information.
- Take simple and effective steps to defend against digital break-ins.
- Spot common tricks and scams hackers use to attack small businesses.
- Promote cyber safety within their team.
