January 2024

As we step into a new year, we’re excited to reflect on the achievements of 2024 while looking ahead to the opportunities of 2025. The past year has been filled with challenges, but also with remarkable resilience and creativity from our regional tourism industry. From impactful projects to innovative new experiences, 2024 showcased the strength of our operators and their ability to adapt and thrive.

In this edition, we bid a heartfelt farewell to our Southern Tablelands Industry Development Manager, Kylie Bushby, who has delivered outstanding results and made a lasting impact on our region. Kylie will be dearly missed, we wish her every success in her new endeavour, which you can read more about below.

Also in this edition, we highlight exciting updates, including the launch of the Snowies Alpine Walk, new cycling adventures, and upcoming opportunities to enhance sustainability and innovation within the visitor economy.

Starting this month, we will share tips and insights to assist tourism operators in preparing a quality tourism award submission, with a focus on starting early and using the journey to further develop your business. See the Awards section for more information.

Kylie’s departure creates an exciting employment opportunity with the Destination Southern NSW Team. If you see yourself as our next IDM, please see the article under Destination Southern NSW News.

Thank you for your continued dedication to making Southern NSW a celebrated destination. Here’s to tackling 2025 with optimism, collaboration, and bold ideas!
